Through physical therapy, residents are able to improve their muscle strength and coordination following injury or illness. Focus is on mobility; moving safely in bed, getting up and down from a chair, walking or negotiating stairs, ramps, curbs, and obstacles. Our facility provides a wide range of outdoor and indoor terrain that residents would experience in their everyday life. Physical therapy can also help alleviate or control acute and chronic pain. Our therapists work closely with physicians and nursing staff to develop an appropriate treatment program. As residents progress, goals and plans are adjusted for maximum success. Physical therapists evaluate people with a wide variety of cardio, pulmonary, orthopedic, and neurological conditions. Based on resident challenges and goals, we develop an individualized program to:

  • Promote restoration of movement, patterns, and control
  • Restore function
  • Decrease pain
  • Educate the patient in self-management
  • Improve postural control
  • Improve stability
  • Conquer mobility obstacles
  • Establish appropriate assistive equipment

Our licensed physical therapists also work with residents to prevent mobility loss by developing fitness and wellness programs for healthier and more active lifestyles. We strive to assist our residents and their families to achieve the highest level of independence and safety so everyone can live a satisfactory and enjoyable life after recovery.
